Volvo company is occupied by preparation for the debut in the market sedans. The future model S60 developed under the direction of designer Steve Mattina, should mark occurrence of considerably new style in company philosophy. Already having in the active work over XC60, Mattin strenuously works over creation of new and unique design for S60. Swedes lay hopes On this car, after all it, in their opinion, should compete as equals to "schoolmates" of German motorcar giants Mercedes, BMW and Audi. |

The new model, is the most safe Volvo, setting an example new safe technologies, including last City Safe automatic system of braking as the standard. The car will be with three variants of engines, T6 with a turbo-engine which makes 285, and two variants D5 turbodiesel, making 185 and 163h/p accordingly. All models also go with AWD as the standard.
New XC60 will go on sale by the end 2009, and plus coming Mersedes-Benz and Audi Q5 will compete about BMW X3 and Land Rover Freelander/LR2. Manufacture will be in Gent - Belgium, and expect to sell to 50 000 pieces in a year, in the USA, Germany, Great Britain, Russia and China.
